Learn how to download files directly from any web link on Android mobile devices (Samsung, Xiaomi, Google Pixel, OnePlus) using Chrome, Firefox, or Samsung Internet.
1. Long-Press Link Method in Mobile Chrome
Long-press any file link on Chrome for Android and choose "Download Link" to force saving directly to your phone's internal storage without opening an in-app viewer.
2. Downloading on Samsung Internet & Firefox for Android
- Samsung Internet: Long-press the file link and tap "Save link". Check your download progress via the bottom menu ➔ Downloads.
- Firefox Mobile: Long-press the link and choose "Save Link". Firefox will prompt a confirmation notification before writing the file to disk.
3. Where to Find Downloaded Files on Android
By default, Android saves all browser downloads to the public /storage/emulated/0/Download/ directory. You can access your files using:
- Files by Google / My Files App: Open your phone's built-in file manager and tap the "Downloads" category.
- Browser Download Manager: Tap the three-dots menu (⋮) in Chrome or Firefox and select "Downloads".
